MCOC is a voluntary organization of civic-minded men and women who have a commitment to improving their community. Members come from business, industry, the armed forces, agriculture and the professions. MCOC’s primary goal is providing or supporting programs that benefit young people. New members are always welcome! Contact the MCOC Club President Stewart Mallard at or give him a call at 704-948-1752.

We meet monthly to support our various youth activities. Meetings include time for members to have dinner, catch up, and cover our agenda concering upcoming activities. Frequently we will invite in a local speaker, coach, or teacher to discuss various current events and issues. Meetings are normally held third Sunday of each month starting at 6:30pm with a dinner, followed by meeting at 7pm.
Optimist International is an association of more than 3,000 Optimist Clubs around the world dedicated to “Bringing Out the Best in Kids.” Optimist Clubs conduct positive service projects in their communities aimed at providing a helping hand to youth. With their upbeat attitude, Optimist Club members help empower young people to be the best they can be. Each Optimist Club determines the needs of the young people in its community and conducts programs to meet those needs. Every year, Optimists conduct 65,000 service projects and serve well over six million young people.
